New Life Counselling adult project offers individual, couple and group counselling to those over 25 years of age, which specifically includes older people (60+). Counselling in a one to one setting gives the person the opportunity to explore significant life experiences with a counselling in a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment. Counselling helps the individual to identify and implement different ways of managing challenging experience which in turn impacts on, and improves, their physical, emotional and mental well-being. The Adult project has provided experiential group work for the past six years. Programmes are tailor made and aim to meet the needs of group participants. They include taster workshops, ten week courses and year long therapy groups. The method of psychodrama psychotherapy uses action and role play as well as words, to enhance creativity and spontaneity. This helps individuals to build on their self esteem and confidence in how to relate to others and ultimately create personal and social change. Group work is suitable for anyone who wants to change, who can commit to a group for an agreed period of time and who has difficulties of an ongoing nature such as depression, relationship difficulties, isolation, wanting to find out who they are and what they need.
